                     Galaxy Arts Integration Workshop 
Title:          "Using Effective Instructional Strategies in Arts Integration"
 
Location:    CIU # 10 Offices/West Decatur
 
Time:          Registration - 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
 
                  WORKSHOP - 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Please note: Workshop will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.) 
 

Description:
 
Teachers will learn how brain based instructional strategies, suggested by the SAS Portal, can be implemented to facilitate student learning.  Educators will be engaged in a hands-on arts integration workshop, which will demonstrate co-teaching, the Voluntary Model Curriculum lesson design and differentiated instructional strategies.  The research on arts integration and brain based teaching and learning will be the premise for the workshop.
 
Presenters will offer an example of arts integration with specific curriculum content that includes the visual arts, poetry and social studies content.  Discussion will include how this can be further applied to many other content areas and art forms (music, dance, theatre, etc.).

Elementary teachers, arts educators, social studies teachers and professional artists will benefit from this session.
